The Sentinels' persistence was crucial in the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. Following this, Alice Paul drafted the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). 

The ERA's Journey 70's - present: (roughly summarized)

1972: The ERA passed Congress but stalled in the states. 

2020: Virginia became the 38th state to ratify, but the ERA has yet to be officially published, leaving over 200 million Americans without Constitutional rights. 2020: Trump directed Barr to send a memo to The Archivist, blocking the publication 

2024: At the annual meeting of the American Bar Association in Chicago on Aug. 6, the association’s House of Delegates adopted a resolution declaring the Equal Rights Amendment fully ratified as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The ABA resolution urged full implementation of the ERA by the legal community and all federal, state, local, territorial and tribal governments. The ABA has a membership of 400,000 lawyers.

Our Mission - To ensure the ERA becomes the 28th Amendment, a new wave of Sentinels will stand at the White House this September, raising awareness and demanding the ERA's publication. 

The Final Push - According to a recent statement by The American Bar Association, The Equal Rights Amendment Is Valid and Should Be Implemented immediately! The 28th Amendment will enshrine gender equality in the U.S. Constitution, providing a solid legal foundation for all and protecting existing gender equity laws. For a century, women and allies have fought for equality. Now, we must push for the official recognition of the rights we've already won! Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied based on sex!
